SKINSTITUT

A complete re-brand for a skincare company who were historically ‘faceless’ and relied on their cosmeceutical clinics to sell their products.

Carrie-Ann Le Feuvre - Skinstitut

Introduction

Skinstitut pride themselves on creating skincare products that create change, relying on effective ingredients that work — not marketing, fads or industry trends. They passionately believe that quality cosmeceutical skincare should be affordable for every face. Historically ‘faceless’, they relied on their cosmeceutical clinics to sell their products. and aside from packaging, had no distinct visual identity or strategic vision for the brand.

To accelerate growth and connection with millennials, I was commissioned to create a more contemporary take on Skinstitut’s original positioning and bring it to life with a complete re-brand project, including brand identity, campaign and content creation, advertising collateral and website design.

I created the positioning ‘High-performance cosmeceutical skincare affordable for every face.’

Brand and Identity

I ran one of my tailored, bespoke brand DNA workshops to help Skinstitut uncover their target audience, brand personality and positioning within the market.

My research showed a fairly untapped market who craved simple yet effective skincare that didn’t break the bank!
I used the insights discovered during the brand DNA workshop to create the concept of ‘high performance skincare’ which was available for ‘every face’.

The new brand direction and visuals encouraged a sense of creativity whilst also connecting. I achieved this by using relatable faces and messaging, mixed with bright colours and bold shapes.

“We make high-performance cosmeceutical skincare affordable for every face.”

— Skinstitut Positioning Statement

Content and Campaign Creation

Using the outcomes from the extensive brand work I carried out, I developed full brand style guides, providing creative direction, design guidelines and assets to ensure consistency across all brand touch points.

The re-brand of Skinstitut was to coincide with the launch of their new mineral makeup range… ‘Makeup that makes a difference’. I worked with them for this launch to ensure all photoshoots, communications and design collateral were consistent with the new visual direction and correctly reflected the brand’s DNA, personality and target audience.

Website Design

A key part of the brand work was to produce a new website which set the brand apart from the clinic brand Laser Clinics. I wanted our vision of attainable skincare that packs a punch to shine across all digital spaces by using consistent design codes and staying true to our newly devised brand DNA and personality.
